What is the South Korea Postal Code Finder?
This is a free tool for finding South Korean postal codes (우편번호, upyeonbeonho). Search a city, district (gu) or rural township (eup/myeon) to get its 5-digit code, or enter a code to see which area it belongs to. It covers all 17 provinces and metropolitan cities, and place names work in English (romanized) and Korean (Hangul).
It helps with online shopping, international shipping, visa and residence forms, university applications, and any website that asks for a Korean address.
How to find a Korea zip code
- Place to code: choose “Place → Code”, type a place such as Gangnam, Busan or 제주, and optionally narrow it with the province menu.
- Code to place: choose “Code → Place” and type a full code like 04524, or the first digits like 06 to list every match.
- Copy the code, or open the area on a map to check it.
How Korean postal codes work
A South Korean postal code has five digits with no hyphen or letters, for example 04524. The five-digit system replaced the old six-digit code (written 123-456) on 1 August 2015 and is based on road-name addresses.
Reading the digits
The first two digits point to a region. Broadly: 01–08 is Seoul, 10–18 Gyeonggi-do, 21–23 Incheon, 24–26 Gangwon, 27–29 Chungcheongbuk-do, 30 Sejong, 31–33 Chungcheongnam-do, 34–35 Daejeon, 36–40 Gyeongsangbuk-do, 41–43 Daegu, 44–45 Ulsan, 46–49 Busan, 50–53 Gyeongsangnam-do, 54–56 Jeonbuk, 57–59 Jeollanam-do, 61–62 Gwangju and 63 Jeju. Codes starting with 0 keep their leading zero.
Writing a Korean address
In Korean, an address runs from large to small: province or city, district, road name and building number. On overseas forms it is usually reversed, with the building number and road first, then the district, city and postal code.
